My son got this for his birthday back in November. (He turned 3) He enoys it immensely. It's similar to the Tyco type tracks where you put the cars on and pull the 'trigger' to get the cars to race. This set takes 4 'D' batteries. The cars don't switch lanes or anything, but it's pretty good for a young kid, and at $10, it seems like a good price. I didn't buy my son's set, but i think I priced it later and found it for about $20/avg, I think, although my wife is saying she thinks it was $15 at Wal-mart.
