I've had a kodak dx6490 for about 7 years. About 9 months ago I had to buy a replacement battery. I haven't used it much with the replacement, nor did I keep it on the charge stand since I got it, and after 6 months or so the replacement will no longer hold a charge. Should I start to be worried about the camera internals having gone bad or just toss it to bad luck with the new battery?

Bad luck with a bad battery. Was it a 3rd party, or Kodak certitifed?

I guess that confirms it - bad luck with bad battery. :)

Most third party replacement batteries are quite bad. If you must buy a third party battery, at least buy one from a reputed maker such as Energizer, Duracell, or Lenmar.

thanks for that link. they've got my battery and say they have a 1 year guarantee; from a US supplier so it should be easier to deal with.
