Acer Centrino 2 laptop, Core2 Duo P8400 cpu, Kingston SSD. Vista pro.

The battery is about 2 years old and holds about 2 hours charge (used to be close to 5). The battery indicator falls from full to 0 in about half an hour, after that the laptop will go to sleep, I will wake it and it will comfortably run for well over an hour. Actually typing it right now and it's showing 0.

I'm not going to buy another battery just so that the indicator shows true charge if the laptop will work fine for close to 2 hours. Is there any way to reset the battery meter somehow so it will show a relative charge?

have you tried running it completely dead? after that let it sit for 15 minutes, then start charging it again.
