Battery indicator not showing

Hey guys, im on my inspiron 9300 and the battery indicator like disappeared. I cant get it back, and i understand that when running on battery it should always be there. please help me!

Try this:

Control Panel ---> Power Options ---> Power Meter.

make sure that: "Show Details For Each Battery" is checked.

yep, its checked, and still no luck.

hmm well it randomly came back, and then i restarted, and its GONE AGAIN!!!

you're sure it's not being hidden by the "Hide inactive icons" option, right?

Right. i turned off the inactive icons thing, and its not in there.

this was an interesting read. though i want to stress that playing with the registery scares the hell out of me. So read the workarounds first.
