Battery Help

I just recieved a Dell Inspiron 1100 for Christmas. However, I have never had a laptop before, what are some good suggestions to take care of the Li-Ion Battery? I won't be moving it around too much, should I just leave it plugged in? How often should I discharge it (if ever?) any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

There is a lot of mixed opinions on how you should charge and discharge the batts.
However I think just about everyone agrees that it is fine to leave it in all the time.
Li-Ion batteries have circuits built in to prevent overcharging plus leaving it in, will act as a battery back-up against power failure.
Battery University is a good source
for information regarding all types of batteries.
