I've had this battery for almost two years, so I figured it would go pretty soon, but I didn't think it'd go like this. It was at around 70% today and I was installing new graphics drivers, so I restarted. Well, the computer wouldn't display correctly at bootup, so I had to shutdown and run scandisk, go into safe mode, all that mess. After powering on and off once again, the battery light went dark and the computer started beeping and cut off. The battery had went from 70% to 0% in like 3 minutes.

Now I'm home and charging it up, it's up to 38%, but the timer says it will be another 8 hours to charge it to full...wtf?

Sounds typical. I had my Dell (Inspiron 4100) laptop battery go from 100% to 0 in 2 minutes!!!

If the battery is two years old, it's probably time to replace it.
