battery charge indicator doesn't update after hibernation

Sometime in the past few months, my eeePC 1005HA with Windows 7 Starter has developed an interesting problem. After coming out of hibernation, the battery indicator won't update from the level it was at before hibernating. The battery itself works fine, it's just that the indicator is stuck. Right-clicking on the indicator and opening the power options control panel usually makes it work again, but sometimes I don't notice when the battery meter is stuck (I don't think it does it 100% of the time, but it does it quite often) and get caught by surprise when the battery is low. I haven't been able to google up anybody with the same problem, has anyone here seen it or know of a solution?

Bumping because it STILL doesn't work a lot of the time. I still haven't found anyone else with the exact same problem either.

A reboot should fix it. Hibernation is basically a disk file that records the state of things when started. It comes from the HDD. Whatever the battery state was when it hibernated will be reflected when awakened. To restore full function, reboot.

In your case, it is possible that hiberfil.sys might be corrupted. I would turn off hibernation, then delete that file. If I really wanted it back, I wsould then turn it off and let it rebuild the hiberfil.sys file.
