Battery Backup BX1500LCD Problem

I get this message. The battery in your battery backup is disconnected. The unit will not be able to support your system in the event of a power problem until you connect your battery.

I checked the battery voltage and is as follows.
12.17
13.40

The other message that pops up is.

Battery reconnected in battery backup.

Can you help.

What I did discover that one battery reads 13 volts and the other is reading 10 volts. Doesn't look like the 10 volt battery is taking a charge. I checked the UPS and it's putting out a 25 volt charge. Which would be right for a duel battery system. I have the 10 volt battery on a small car charger to see if it comes up before I buy new batteries.
