Batteries Losing Charge

Do notebook batteries lose their ability to hold charge even when they are not being used for an extended period of time?
 
Yes, battery capacity decreases whether you use your batteries or not. It's because of the chemistry that the battery makeup "decays" as time moves along.
 
Abosolutely....And they will perform better when you intentionally fully discharge them from time to time and recharge them.
