Batteries for the Canon S40

Hey, I was wondering if you guys know where to get batteries for cheap for the Canon S40? I mean I checked ebay but I don't know how reliable those batteries would be.

Like these?

I used to have an S40 but upgraded recently to the S60.

They have a new battery out for the S series that is 2X the capacity. I think its the 2HL. You might want to get that instead for your camera.

The battery life is significantly better than the old one in my real world usage. One other thing of note is that its also the same battery Canon uses in its Optura 500 camcorder which is nice because now I can interchange batteries.

The cheapo off-brand batteries don't last as long in the camera but they do work. I don't know where you could go to find comparisons, but I think a good estimate is that you will only get about 60% of the pictures on a single charge from the off-brand as you would get from the real deal.

They make great, inexpensive backup batteries. If you regularly need a second battery I would ro with the brand name one.
