batteries for a gadget

I got a flytech dragonfly for my kids. I think it has some sort of internal battery that is charged from the remote control which has 6 AA batteries. Anyway, the batteries are going quickly. Should I get rechargeable batteries? Are the rechargeable batteries strong enough for this type of device?

And if anyone knows any good deals on strong rechargable batteries, please let me know.
