so there's talk about this now...

I always thought this was a no-brainer...

If you give Batman a slight headstart (say a few hours), he'll find some kryptonite and that's the end of that...otherwise, superman will just punch him within a second from the start...

So, since a movie is 2-3 hours, I'll give it to Batman :D

Depends on who plays batman. If it's Michael Keaton, then Superman's gonna get his ass kicked. But if it's Val Kilmer or George Clooney, then the bat is byebye.

Sounds pretty dumb. THey're totally in different classes. Batman is just a regular guy with some cool moves and gear.

Seriously though... Why would Superman have a beef with Batman or vice versa? I thought they were on the same side -- both good guys. What is this, a pissing contest or something?

Historically, I believe Batman's got a better record in the head-to-head. But that's probably because most of the matchups are following Frank Miller's lead as homage.

Neither.

They are going to meet, have a misunderstanding, fight for a little while before reluctantly deciding to team up to take down the villian. Happens in half the comic books I've ever read.

Btw: Batman would win if he could prepare.

In a fight? Superman is untouchable, kryptonite can weaken him but it doesn't kill him, besides what good is that when you can fly faster then a speeding bullet, you can't be seen and if he just rammed the real Batman which wears no armor like the latest movie's, he's dead :)

Batman would win as he has done it before and could do it again.

Hell, he beat every member of the JLA at one point.. I don't see why he couldn't do it again.

But that means nothing.. the comic characters are always so much different then the movie ones.

Batman for example.. right now he is running from the law and has given up on being Bruce Wayne. He just wants to hide out in his bat cave and not get arrested by the coppers.

And with Lex Luthor knowing Superman's secret identity, who knows what could happen...

i've read dark knight...
and how batman kicks supermans butt.

but what i still don't understand is... how.

it just seems like they wanted to make batman more powerful...
but with all the powers superman has... it just doesn't seem to add up.

man, i'm arguing about comic characters again.

Thats like Godzilla vs. Bambi, hmmmm, lemme see, a superduper strong guy that bends steel girders and can take a nap in lava .....or a freak in pajama's with bat shaped boomarang in his belt.

I thought this was no contest... Batman was GIVEN some Kryptonite by Superman just in case he got out of hand.
If Lex with kryptonite is bad...

Oh, and kryptonite CAN kill Superman not to mention neutralize all his powers & invulnerability. But then again, Hollywood will screw us over somehow... they'll never finish the fight and be all loveydovey at the end.

EDIT: uh oh, Brendan Frasier might be Superman according to Dark Horizons...

Anyone who doesn't pay to see the piece of crap. :frown:

LOL

In the words of Conan O'Brian: "Is this even a good idea? I mean Superman is from another planet, he's got superpowers, he can fly, he can move the earth....Batman just works out a lot."

HAHAH, Conan Rulez

For those of you who don't know, Batman already kicked the crap out of Superman alread in Dark Knight Returns by Frank Millar. Remember, brains over brawn anyday.

Give Batman a few hours? Don't need to, he already prepared for this and a bunch of other scenarios, probably just have to push a button to activate one of a dozen plans and Superman is KOed.

Dark Knight my eye...there's a million things that can kill Batman....and just (theoretically) one that can kill Superman. And we're talking about the real Batman, not this dark crap where he has a jillion gizmos and such. You take the Batman of the early 90's with nothing more than his cape, bat bommerang, and utility belt and put him up against Superman. You're putting the "new" version of Batman up against the old version of Superman - how would he fare against the new versions of Superman?

anyway the real truth is to make a story, I mean if you look at the flat out profile of Superman, there is no way to stop him. So they have to make up a story and all of a sudden he's weak, regular guys punching him and him not being hurt but knocked back, C'mon he's the man of steel :)

I don't care how smart Batman is, all Superman has to do is look at his face and shine those beams, he's not faster then the speed of light :)

Look at X-men the movie, there is no way they could have beat Magneto if they made him comic book style, so they made him a weak frail old man with hardly any of his real powers ;)
