Batman Begins: Bad idea to watch it in imax?

From what I heard a lot of the picture is cut out when you watch a movie in imax. Would it be bad to see it in imax before watching it in a theatre?
 
I saw star wars ep 3 in imax, and it sucked because 35mm film + bigass screen = bad.

go see it in digital projecton.
 
i enjoyed seeing the last 2 matrix movies and spiderman in imax.

it's sort of like letterbox but on a huge ass screen. and kickass sound.

imo, imax in no way detracted from the experiences.

yours was shown in a fullscreen version? did they pan & scan or something?

the movies i've seen were 70mm and so were letterboxed on an imax screen.
 
IMAX is awesome, but i believe they can only fit two hours for every IMAX version, so if the movie is longer than two hours, they clip it in spots.
I may be wrong, but that's what i've been told (hopefully by people that weren't dumb).
 
I watched matrix 3 on an IMAX. I was blown away by the picture quality. Looked far better than at a regular cinema with smaller screen. Best movie going esperience I have had in a looong time. Will do it ofter but it already hurts dishing out $8 let alone $14

i'd watch it first in normal film. imax is so big its hard to follow..you can't focus on the entire screen at once. plus its cut. its nice for the totally eveloping experience, but that should be on 2nd viewing for a good film. and since ebert and roper like it and call it best of all the batmans. it probably is
 
I saw Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkeban in IMAX. It was "remastered" for the IMAX screen. I thought the picture quality was much improved. As others have said, it might be better for a second viewing, becuase it's sometimes hard to see the whole screen at once.
 
The issue I've had with non IMAX films played on IMAX screens is the stretching/curving at the edges - I find it seriously annoying.

The huge screen is nice but regular films weren't made to be played on a screen like that.
