Yea and by that time I may also have a new gpu or ram. We will see, gonna try and trade some ps4 games in at best buy that I don't play anymore. Waiting for the fury x reviews tomorrow.

I don't think fury will help for this game. It needs a new driver but also a big game patch.

Figured it would need a patch after browsing steam forums. Sounds like yet another rushed and unoptimized game but eventually it will be fixed up.

I hope the PC gamers don't feel too bad... I just got a crash to desktop on my PS4 version. I didn't even think that was possible, but here we are

I've had it happen in watchdogs and mlb 14 when it first came out.

I have a few hours in, and it's been some good times. I like how your hand isn't held for very long with tips and waypoints always telling you what to do and where to go. One of the first side missions is to find some captured firemen, and instead of just telling you exactly where on the map to go it just says go find them. It's not new, just nice to see.

Very good looking game, though I've seen some texture pop-in during cutscenes. No huge issue but it was noticeable. Gameplay has always been smooth.

Had it lock up and crash on my Xbox One too the other night. Fortunately, I didn't lose any data, but I was worried after Arkham Origins set me back 4+ hours due to save game corruption bug.

Just got the game, put a little bit of time into it.

I'm kind of ...meh.

It's clear they're VERY proud of the Batmobile. But it feels so forced down your throat. I'm still just starting out, but I don't particularly enjoy the segments, and if I had the option to simply glide/grappel everywhere I'd much rather do that.

The Batmobile also seems like a way to make the story even zanier and less believable (is that a thing for these games?) than before. I can appreciate the inherent comic-book "turn off brain--watch things go boom" factor that must accompany games like this. But really? "Batman, I'm counting six unmanned tanks [with rocket launchers] headed your way!"

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Really? Did a 9 year old write this stuff at recess? I sort of appreciated the old "Oh crap, there's a few guys with machine guns around the corner! Better be careful" elements of the previous entries. Now it's "Oh great...another half dozen ROCKET TANKS coming my way...*sigh/...and I'm already running late..."

I'll hold off judgement really until at least a few more hours in, but I'm not blown away to start off.

Yeah the batmobile isn't growing on me either. If it was just a mode of transportation that you had as an option with maybe a couple weapons to disable the rioter's vehicles and a few bonus racing stages it might be ok. The tank stuff really doesn't do the game any favors IMO. What is particularly annoying is how some spots in the game don't let you progress unless you are in the batmobile. It should be an option, not forced. Oh well.

I got this game free when I bought an xbox only because I didn't know I could choose any game I wanted. How much re-playability does this game have?

Probably about the same as all the Arkham games:

Go through on a harder difficulty/find different riddler puzzles/do various side quests/play around with various DLC.

It's not great, but for a linear single player game, it's decent.

Thanks for your input. I have the other games on steam but I haven't installed them. I might go ahead and see if I can sell it while its unopened.

The game has a NG+ mode where your riddler trophies and riddle solving carries over. There are something like 240 riddles to solve. There's 2 endings and you only get the good one if you do 100% of the sidequests before you activate the knight protocol. So being able to carry them over if you didn't do everything is great.

What are the side quests looking like? Are those the firefighters that need rescuing or the AR challenges?

The firefighters, riddler hunt, roadblocks, search towers, super villains, mine clearing, APC takedown etc. you'll get lots of stuff to do if you want to get the true ending

Yea my problem is I was used to the witcher ? areas and now I'm just blindly going around arkham looking for the firefighters and the crimes. I did not enjoy the riddler's first batmobile course lol. Other than that I haven't done any of the story quests yet.

Yeah there is no handholding, you need to search for certain signs and use detective move when gliding around to find the places for the sidequests. You could always use a guide if you are particularly stumped and in many cases you need to progress the main story to even get to a specific area.

Yea im fine with no hand holding just takes time to get used to it again. How do you activate detective mode? I'm liking this game more than the other 3 so far.

Press up on the dpad for detective mode. You can see enemies through walls etc.

Starting to really hate the riddler stuff. Apparently you need all the trophies, all the challenges, and all the breakable objects to actually complete it.

I just don't like the batmobile race event. Already did it the first time now I have to do it on hard mode. I did all the other AR challenges but didn't score so well. Guess I need to continue the story.

Actually, I'm finding that as you progress through the story each sidequest gets updated with a location. So if you're struggling to find them just wait, they'll get pointed out to you (or an area to search for will get pointed out). So you can find them on your own, or just wait until you get an update. It'll say "INTEL" under the icon in the side-quest wheel if a location is available. There's even some you won't be able to progress past a certain point without going through the story anyway.

I'm getting near the end. I have a few of the side-quests finished and it seems like things are about to wrap up. Not sure if I'm going to finish the Riddler stuff first... that'll take way too long.

Anyway, I really like it overall. Good variety in the side missions. The only thing I really didn't like was the batmobile racing. I actually liked the tank fights. They didn't fit in with batman at all, but it was fun. The races (riddler and Firefly) were frustrating though. It just doesn't control right and ends up being more annoying than fun. Other than that (and some story gripes) it's been worth getting at release for me.

Yea I hate the races. I don't mind driving the batmobile out on the street but to actually do a timed event is a different story. I can't even tell what the side missions are. I know the main three topics are riddler, the murders, and firefighters.

Seems like it was a short game for you. Hopefully I won't finish it that quickly.
