Batman: AC, Ph2 960T, GeForce 750Ti

My PC spec:
http://www.mikeymike.org.uk/mikes/mypc.txt

Currently the extra two cores are unlocked.

I upgraded from a 5770 recently, and the performance improvement when playing Tomb Raider (2013) was appreciable; it handled DX11 perfectly well at 1080p.

Batman: AC though is another kettle of fish - the 5770 could handle it in DX9, but with DX11 frame rates dropped noticeably and were very erratic so I played it in DX9. However, the 750Ti doesn't seem to be much better (even without AA). Could it be my CPU that's holding it up?

StarCraft 2 handles a little better during peak load periods.

That's Batman AO you've URL'd there. AC is totally playable on DX9 (lovely smooth frame rates), just not really on DX11 due to the massive variations in frame rate.

In DX9 mode, even if I ramp up the AA level to the highest setting, it makes only a small difference to performance. However as soon as I enable DX11 (on 'normal' or 'high'), without any AA, I'd say the FPS goes from say 40-50 down to (guessing) 10-15, maybe less. The difference is so drastic that it makes it difficult to play.

- edit - Weee! I found this solution:
http://forums.evga.com/Possible-fix-for-Batman-Arkham-city-dx11-issues-m1509605.aspx

Frame rates are now way up, I've got it set to DX11 'high' and FXAA 'high' and the game is nicely playable.

Are you sure that you're actually running in DX11 mode? It seems like that tip actually just removes some of game's engine-related files (bmengine, bmgame and userengin), which may force it to DX9.

As I think more about it, I recall that Rocksteady hacked in DX11 support into Arkham City when the engine was really DX9 only. So it may just be bad code.
