ANybody in here been successful getting their hybrid physx running in Batman AC?

Mine runs fine with Batman AA, MAfia II, Mirrors edge, Metro and Cryostasis. I just can't seem to get it running with Batman AC.

I get the cpu physx but no GPU acceleration.

I have tried 285.xx and the latest nvidia drivers to no avail and am running Genl's mod (1.05ff)

MY rig is running

2600k
7970/GTX 285
WIN7

I haven't reset my rig up, but when I did - make sure you aren't using the latest version of the PhysX software.

I for the life of me can't remember the actual version number, but when I did it - it wasn't included with the WHQL driver package from nVidia, I actually downloaded it separetly. Later someone in the HCQL (spelling?) forum found that if you use the older version of PhysX it would work.

nVidia put something in the newest PhysX software bundle that broke the hybrid config. I'll see if I can find where I documented my findings.

It took some monkey business but I managed to get this figured out. Batman AC manages to put a pretty good load on my GTX 285 and the physx effects are nice.

Unless they updated the PhysX package, it never got my 9800 GTX+ above 50% load.

And now I got a GTX 460 for PhysX Offloading :D

yeah I wish someone would explain why physx uses so little of the gpu. in games that use physx, my overall gpu usage drops instead of going up when physx effects are encountered. it seems silly to have the framerates drop due to lower gpu usage at the very point that you need more gpu usage.

It will be interesting to see if physx 3.0 (which no games have utilized yet since it came out in the second half of last year) will deliver better GPU utilization, better performance and/or more effects, AND a higher adoption rate. Nvidia said in an interview that physx 3.0 will see a wider adoption than physx is currently getting, and that performance should be higher.
