Batman AA installed the AMD dual-core optimiser on my Win7 rig. Remove?

I'm just playing Batman AA again and noticed that on the same day that it was installed, AMD's dual core optimiser was also installed. There's no way on the planet I installed the latter myself, AFAIK it is only needed on XP systems?

It adds a XP specific boot option which no longer exists and for which the method of adding has change (now bcdedit). It's doubtful it did anything when it installed.

It was useful because the design of XP's system timer didn't play well with multiple cores (TSC desync).
