Batman AA/AC updates remove GFWL and SecuROM! Question

I just came across this:

I bought my copy of Batman AA on DVD, I'm just playing it again at the moment. If I remove it, then add it to my Steam library with the product key in the DVD case, does that mean I can get it DRM and DVD-free without having to pay again?

You will receive a digital Steamworks enabled copy of the GOTY if you redeem the key from within Steam.

I think my copy is just a standard copy of Batman AA rather than GOTY.

I got Arkham Asylum back in '09. It was automatically upgraded to non-GFWL and GOTY last year. Same thing happened with my Arkham City (upgraded to GOTY that is). Both of my old versions still appear in my Steam list, the new ones were simply added for free.

Same thing happened to me. I had the standard editions of AA and AC, and the GOTY editions. Neither version, I installed and tested both, have GFWL.

Yup, I've installed Batman AC via Steam without problems or unnecessary 'extras' (re: GFWL).
