Batch MPEG encoder?

I'm looking for a decent batch MPEG encoder. I have a bunch of .AVI's and .ASF's and need to put them on a video CD. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Doesn't TMPGenc allow you to do this?

It does, but it's a pain to add them to the batch file if you have to encode 50 or so AVIs at a time. I'd like to just be able to select a bunch of files and have the encoder do it's thing.
