Batch conversion of bmps to jpegs

my friend has a ton of bmps and needs to convert them to jpegs to save a ton of space, any free program that can do it?

You can do it with Irfanview, I'm pretty sure.

Beat me to it. Yes, Irfanview is free, and it can do it. That's what I use.

Irfanview is a nice app,and I like it as a viewer, but XnView is what I prefer for conversions, resizing and sometimes a variety of other things.

Irfanview for sure. It's simple to setup the process and of course, free, plus it's not bloatware that hijacks your entire file associations.
