Bastard impersonating me on AIM... any way to figure out who it is?

There's someone from school who is using a SN similar to mine and is harassing people... and since the name is similar to mine everyone thinks its me. Is there anyway to figure out who or what nick or what email he used to register his SN? I'm pretty pissed because a lot of people are mad at me for something I'm not even doing.

i use aim.. and know quiet a few other at'ers who use AIM. ITs not our fault that all of our freinds use aim and getting them to switch over to another IM thing is impossible. And besides- whats wrong with aim. It does everything i need it to, and them some.

7 responses which didn't really give me any info... but yes I use AIM because with AIM I have 50 people to talk to at any given time and with ICQ or MSN or anything else i'd have about 5 or 6 (people that I know personally at least). But anyways, anyone have any info regarding my original question

No, you cannot get any info just by the persons aim account, sorry.

Unless you know an AOL employee, that is the only way you'll get any type of information.

Other then that, you're SOL.

Why don't you go make a poll and find out exactly how many of us use AIM?

i had the same problem. some SOB made screen names like Ds1 Foolish or DsI FoolisH to make it look like my sn. DsLFoolisH. well, good thing i dont use that screen name anymore. they had the same font style, color, even profile as me. surprising how many people have no lives. and i dont know how you could find out who they are. just try to confront them online and call them a wuss because they are too embarassed or scared to reveal who they really are and they wanna be like you. should do okay.

change your screen name to something that cant really be copied. then tell your friends that you have a new sn and that it can't be you since you have a new sn!

Yeah... I think I have pretty strong arguments as to why it's not me... if I was going to harass people online and hope they didn't think it was me, why would I create a name so similar to my own that one would immediately think it was me? But I guess I'll go make a new SN now, even though I really liked mine

Someone (supposedly) impersonated me once to try to piss off my best friend...the only problem is that they spelled my name wrong.

/me is glad he has an uncommon spelling

if he has a similiar name to u, how did he get ur buddy list? and if ur buddies see u both on at the same time, wouldnt they realize there is 2 of u? their would be 2 AIM windows from 2 ppl

or make another SN, and try to fig out who they are from it, asking like hows it gonig pretending to be that other kid, oh whats his name? and then just play along with whatever... ask thier major and stuff, you could get some info
