Bass Pro Shops

Bass Pro Shops will be leasing the now empty Pyramid Arena and spend 75 million in renovations. They claim 2-3 million people will visit anually and 42% will stay overnight. If that is the case, it will be great for downtown Memphis. You will be able to test drive boats on the river and they may include an aquarium and hotel. Should be a lot of camo sold there.

Story

we have one going in around here east of KC. i guess they are cool

the cabelas went in about 3 years ago on the west side of town next to the Nascar track

Wow. It's like a redneck Mecca.

It's kind of scary, but, living in Texas, I know a lot of people who would probably travel there just to visit the world's largest sporting goods store.

I can only supply pics of the pyramid arena as Bass Pro has yet to move in. The Pyramid has been a big money pit since it was built. It has been empty since the FedEx Forum was built. The city still owes about 20 million on it.

I think the central location is what attracted Bass Pro Shops. Not to far away from all the big hunting and fishing states.
