Bass Pro Shops Sale

Bass Pro Shops is having a sale on their Bionic Blade series of fishing rods, anywhere from $20 to $40 bucks off. These sales come and go but it seems hard to hit one at the same time your planning a fishing trip.

I don?t think you can go wrong with buying one of the Bionic Blade/XPS Series rods.

Im a real fan of light action rods.

I am picking up a 5?6? light action XPS for my new Tica SB500 ultralight spinner (Found at cabela?s.) I also like the classic Abu Gracia C3 4600/Bionic Blade Mid action 6? rod combo for $98 which is about 40$ off the normal price. All around good value here which can?t be beat for rod combos that cost twice as much.

Also , just wanted to let everyone know the spinner is probablly the way to go if your just getting started. Baitcasting setups make for longer more accurate casting.

However, backlashing tends to be a bigger problem on baitcasters. Backlash is where the spool is still spinning to release line after the bait hits the water. The line gets tangaled inside the reel and is a nasty mess to get strait.

The Abu Garcia C3 baitcasters seem to have the problem licked in my case. I already have a 5500C3. The 4600C3 is for lighter weight fishing.

hrmm. Intresting question. Depends on what your fishing for.

bassresource

has allot of good articles.

Here is an article thats given me something to try this season. river fishing for bass. It talks about light weight lures for light weight rods. Casting light weight stuff takes a bit of skill but you should be able to upsize everything 1/8 to 1/4 of an ounce to get a little better feel for things. Lots of info. Try printing the list of suggested lures out and taking it to your local bait shop. No need to spend for the expensive stuff.

Oh and pick up some YUM - dingers 4" to 6" in watermelon , black-purple and pumpkin
