Bass Players-is Ibanez any good?

A bass guitar finally appeared for sale in my local classifieds. Having never played bass, I'm new at this. It says it's an Ibanez. If it's in good shape, is this a quality bass worth getting? Keep in mind my low price cap.🙂

They are pretty good. Im not fond of their electronics, but if you are just starting out, its a nice piece.

I have an Ibanez Soundgear bass, and it's nice. I like it because of its lightness and slim neck. It has a P pickup in the neck position and a J pickup at the bridge, which gives it a good hybrid sound.

BTW, have you ever heard of DeArmond? They are owned by Fender and have an excellent track record for their value. You might have even seen the Ashbory bass that they make (tiny body and silicone strings). I believe DeArmonds are being discontinued, but I can't confirm this. At Sam Ash they are clearing out the DeArmond series and have the Pilot Plus bass w/active preamp for $139.99 and free shipping (5-string version for $159.99). Might be worth looking at.

Edit: Also check out the Pilot Bass Deluxe and Pro near the bottom of the list
