I was perusing the basketball section in my local Dick's today, wanting to pick up a new basketball. My old 5-year old basketball has simply had it, and needs to be replaced. I really liked this one when I came across it (it's not even remotely shiny like in the picture). The grip is fantastic, which is THE one thing I look for, however I'm concerned about the longevity of it. I play 99% of the time on outdoor courts, and I'm just not sure if the grip/texture of the ball would last beyond 5 or 6 runs on the quasi-concrete I play on.
Anyone play with this basketball yet, and can give some opinions?
EDIT: Forgot to add that another thing I like about this basketball is the different look to it. One of the reasons I'm worried that it'll get slick after a few games is because the "skin" of the ball is like a rubber all the way around, not pebbeled like the traditional basketball. It sure would make it easy to distinguish my basketball after getting done playing a pick-up game.
