Basing new system around 24" LCD

Hey guys, I've been out of the computer loop for years now so I need your help!

I'm not a big gamer, but will play something every now and then. I will basically be using my computer for movies, music,MS office, Photoshop etc.

I'm looking at getting the Dell 24" LCD as I believe in spending a bit more on something I will keep for a while.

I have around $800 - $1000 to spend on building a whole new pc (not inc. the monitor), including case, dvd-rw, hard drives etc!

I was looking at somethin along the lines of an Intel E4300, 7900GS, 2GB ram.
Would the cpu and video card be sufficient for the large monitor?

Any feedback appreciated

No, not for gaming. For everything else, of course. But then again, if you're running very old games, like '99 or 2000-era games, then yeah, they'd be fine.

I opted for the 1950XT that was under $200 at the time. I built the whole system (not including my monitor) for about $1000 AR:
E6400
P5B-Deluxe (the DS3 can be had cheaper)
2gig DDR2-800
Case
PSU
320gig WD HD
DVDburner

Of course, there are a lot of ways to cheapen it up with cheaper memory (533 or 667), E4300/4400/6300, etc...
