How well do you think this would hold up for basic usage?

It needs to be able to"

  • Play DVDs
  • Youtube
  • Microsoft Office 2013
I know the rest of the specs are more than fine for what I'm asking but my main concern is the Intel GMA X3100. It wasn't great when it came out but I haven't kept up with things really and I don't know how it would fair with modern day YouTube and websites.

I have much nicer machines but I just want something cheap that can be banged around and won't be out much should something happen. The HDD will probably be replaced with an SSD which brings up another question. Where can I get a copy of a Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 ISO that will work for backup since I'm assuming it won't be coming with any sort of media.

check out the dell financial services website for their off lease laptops.

you can get an e4310 for $306 right now, first gen i5, it will easily handle all your requirements, they often will have % off coupons, usually between 20 to 30% off making it cheaper. I got one for my wife and it is very durable can take a licking and plays youtube, Netflix, and dvd's with no issues

Bought a half dozen or so E6410's from there for work and they have been performing great. They are mounted in cars and take a beating. No problems so far.
