i'll be away for over 24 weeks with almost no privileges. also, my right foot hurts to walk on; the physical training starts next monday. i sincerely hope my foot will heal by then.

24+ weeks polishing my shoes and doing pushups sounds like it will be boring. 🙁

it will be far from boring...🙂

<-- 8 weeks @ Fort Knox and 16 weeks @ Aberdeen Proving Grounds

good luck...you will make life long friends too...

Been at Fort Knox for Basic and Ait. I was a 19D Cav Scout. Wait till the road marches especially the 15K and 20K. Agony, Misery, and heartbreaker definitly not a friend. Anyway best of luck, you should be fine.

Scratch previous, I thought you were going to Knox and you were Army.

Whats pain is when they throw CS at you when your 15kliks into your road march and they expect you to mask up and continue marching.

40lb ruck, 8lb M16, 4lb Kevlar, 8lb web-belt = 60lbs of fun!

What service? And regardless, welcome to the club there shipmate. I hope it treats you well. And in two weeks, you'll be having fun. Don't worry. 🙂

basic training is easy as long as you are already in ok shape. don't take any ****** from anyone but the drill instructors, but don't be a prick either. the whole idea is to establish esprit de corps, so think of your company as a brotherhood.

Thanks for serving. Regardless of the politcal views and opinions, we do need young, bright and willing folks ready to go when ever our governments asks of us.
