Basic SCSI Question

I am going to be building a second pc for myself for I am going to give mine to my wife. I have heard that SCSI machines and interfaces are much quicker. Is this true? Do only certain motherboards support SCSI? What goes into a SCSI setup?

All MB can support SCSI, you just need a controller card if it is not integrated into the MB
Technically SCSI is faster but whether or not you will actually notice or reap benefits depends on the applications you run.
