i am trying to overclock my 2.4c to 3.0 on my soyo 865pe.

i am trying to do the 5:4 overclock, overclocking just my cpu and leaving everything else the same.

based on my motherboard bios, phoenix.

i have found out how to:

-lock agp/pci at 66/33
-adjust cpu fsb
-adjust all voltages

i cant find out to create the ratio (setting Dram to 333.) but i found something that says "DRAM:CPU"
and one of the options available is "X1.25" which is basically 5:4 from Ram to CPU. i can't seem to get it to do 4:5 from ram to cpu (DRAM:CPU). If i set it to X1.25 or auto, and set my fsb to 250, the DDR jumps to 500 something!!

is there anyway i can just overclock my computer and leave everything the same? i am running latest bios and i am stuck here.

that's strange. i have an Abit IS7 mobo, so i'm not too familiar w/ phoenix BIOS. in my award BIOS, the ratio is the other way around (CPU : DRAM). and so a 5:4 divider runs the memory slower than the fsb. there must be something similar in your BIOS. maybe there is another setting you have to play with in order to get a list of workable ratios? for instance, in my BIOS, i have to set the "N/B strap" to 800mhz before a 5:4 divider is available to me. if that's not it, there must be something else. i've never heard of an 865 mobo that doesn't have some sort of viable divider(s) for memory. hopefully someone w/ the same mobo will see this thread. you should edit your title to include your mobo's full name (make and model) so people can see it right away.

Set your cpu fsb to 250, and your divider to 5:4. Your cpu will be running at 3.0, and the memory at 400, which is perfect. If you notice any stability problems, raise the cpu vcore to 1.55 or 1.57.

i think what he's saying is that he's having a problem finding that specific divider...

yea i know i how to do the basic overclock, but i just cant seem to get that divider available to me, i can get 1:1 and 4:5 but not 5:4. Anyone out there have an idea on what i can try? many thanks.
