Im looking to purchase Something in the line of a shuttle case that is smaller.

Example: Shuttle XPC AMD

I am more a fan of AMD for the price and Intel so I would prefer to sick to AMD. The main program I intend to run on this machine is Snapstream to record my TV shows and what not.

Can anyone recommend a inexpensive yet upgradeable setup for me. Maybe theres a partially built system out there that would work for what I need. I'm looking to spend around $500 bucks and upgrade ability is of the up most importance.

Thanks!

well i will say that upgradability is gonna be hard pressed when it comes to using a shuttle.

what about a HTPC case? check out pcalchemy.com for ideas. i use the Ahanix dvine case for my snapstream beyond media and beyond TV HTPC, and love it.

as a general rule of thumb, depending on what your doing, id go with 1gb of memory, some sort of pretty fast cpu (i dont believe any of the snapstream software is multi core, but if your recording TV while watching a dvd it could come in handy).

i use a p4 2.8c, geforce 6600gt, 1gb of memory, and 2x500 gb HDD's, and i absolutely love the setup.

drop me a message if you need help with it.

Wow the HTPC cases look pretty neat! I guess I was just partial to the Shuttle XPC type case for the size of it.

Man, now I have more to consider lol!

If anyone sees a prebuilt inexpensive setup in either of the two types of cases please post it!

Thanks for the help... (I may have more questions)
