How do you avoid the oil from splashing on you and making you squirm in pain? I try to turn down the heat, but like the bacon still pops up oil and it hurts me deeply. HELP ME!

slide it in from the side of the skillet instead of just plopping it down. Trust me it works, I hard to learn the hard way. Just ease it in from the rim of the skillet/fryer and you should be ok

You need to learn deep eastern buddhist meditation so when the hot oil hits you, you become one with the oil and feel no pain

Well. for starters you can stop eating pork bellies. But, if you are addicted to the pork fat thing, buy yourself a grease splatter screen, available at just about any kitchen supply store or department. Cheap and effective.

its isn't a cooking problem you describe...its a wardrobe problem... TRY WEARING CLOTHES WHEN YOU FRY BACON

Unless you like your bacon super crispy, it is better to cook it with the lid on anyway. It gets cooked, but retains some flexibility for easy folding (so you can stuff large amounts in your face :D )

see the lid to the pan? use it as a shield when you're frying stuff. also, use a longer stirring utensil to keep your hand further from the grease and don't do anything to really stir up the oils in the pan. have you ever thought about wearing long sleeves in the kitchen? or perhaps an oven mitt when turning the bacon?
