This is a PC I'm building for my parents. Basic home usage, the most stressful program it's ever likely to run is Turbotax. Budget ~$600 which needs to include all PC components, Windows, a mouse, keyboard and monitor. I am going to reuse their current case and speakers, however.

This is what I've come up with:

CPU: AMD A6-3500 Llano 2.1GHz - $79.99
Mobo: ASRock A55 PRO3 - $74.99
Memory: G.SKILL NS 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1333 - $22.99
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue WD3200AAKX 320GB 7200 RPM - $74.99
PSU: CORSAIR Builder Series CX430 V2 (CMPSU-430CXV2) 430W - $44.99
DVD-ROM: LITE-ON Black SATA DVD-ROM - $18.99
KB: Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 - $20.99
Mouse: Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse - Black - $11.99
Monitor: HP LE1911 Silver 19" - $124.99

I'm also including an external floppy drive ($19.99) and of course Win7 Home Premium ($99.99). Total of those components, $594.89.

Any thoughts, feedback, suggestions?

that corsair supply often goes on sale for $20 less than that

I forgot that it has a $10 MIR. I'm not finding it listed significantly cheaper anywhere else and don't have time to wait for any better sales unfortunately.

Good point on the micro ATX board...
