Bash my resume

There are a couple of things I know I'd like to change.

First, I thought I should add that I'm currently working on an MS in Computer Science.

Second, I'm thinking it might be a good idea to split the technical skills into 2 parts. One for the skills I actually have substantial work experience with and one for those that I have academic experience with, but haven't used in the real world. For example, I don't want to leave Java off my resume because all my undergrad programming classes were in Java and I'm taking grad classes that use Java, so I would be qualified for a more entry level java developer job. But I also don't want to imply that I have Java work experience. I'm not sure how this should be done.

Third is the experience section. I'm not sure if I should toss the company summary. It's a company that everyone knows, but the business done by the division I work for is not well known. I also think the bullet points need work. "Designed and Developed" is used too much, but I'm not sure how else to word it. Some of the points also seem redundant. So I don't know if I should split it into applications I've built, or focus more on identifying each different "development skill" that I've demonstrated.

Alright, bash away.

The MS Word version has the name and contact info centered. Otherwise, it pretty much looks like:

I'm also debating whether or not to remove my academic projects from my resume. All of my Java experience is in academics and I would have no way to hype my Java abilities without it.

Why are people so afraid to leave the details in? OMG I NOW KNOW YOU WENT TO SOME UNIVERSITY. Seriously, it's not that big of deal. I can understand not wanting to put your phone number on the forum, but your undergrad school or first job? Who cares?

I actually had an academic projects section, but I had pretty much decided to leave it off, because I've been out of school (undergrad at least) for 4 years now. Plus, most of the skills the projects demonstrate are already covered by work experience. I never really did any "projects" in Java. It was just what I used in most of my programming classes.

This is what I had:

Academic Software Projects
· Designed and implemented a VB6/Oracle 8i document management system that allowed users to submit, search for, and open documents.
· Built an Internet shopping cart application using ASP, VBScript and SQL Server.
· Developed video de-interlacing software for senior capstone project. Application was written in C in a Linux environment.

You're right. It doesn't really matter. I realized that I did have a slightly more recent version with some of the "Designed and Developed" items changed. I edited the first post with that version.

Yea I was gonna comment on changing a bunch of those Designed and Developed items since its too repetitive, but you already changed it.

Some chances below. Keep in mind that every bullet should show (ideally) 1) what you did, and 2) impact. For example, "Key member of IT / cross functional? team that designed / implemented SQL Server database in $X million business; 3 month development cycle ensured business stayed on track"
