You laugh but the reality is scary. Scarier than you know... D:

Oh I do know all too well. I know quite a few people in their 20's living at home or parents that have their adult kids living with them and unfortunately I"m no exception. I got a 23 yr old stepkid and his g/f, an 18 yr old that happens to have no job or car living with me. He basically takes care of her but he's obviously banking his entire life on a manufacturing job and I'm about to rock the boat if my wife doesn't force some rent or something. Cause when I bring up the rent or leave, it's gonna be ugly..

At work there's a 24 year old, 420lb virgin living with mom and dad and all he does is complain and literally expects his grandfather (owner of the company) to pay everything for him. Fucker didn't even pay back the money he owed his grandfather for the truck he helped him get with the reason of " he didn't ask me for any other payments yet so I'm not gonna"...really? From other friends I hear no shortage of stories of their own with kids and this give me attitude.

Seriously, this is the mentality that many of today's teens and young adults have, the expectation of having everything without earning it.

*edit: I actually wish I had a basement cause I'd go live in it myself.

When I was looking at old houses (1920 or earlier), most of them had some sort of basement, but they were serial killer basements that you wouldn't want to go into. Well, the Victorians usually had a decent basement that you could possibly do something with, but not the Craftsmans. Maybe the ones in better neighborhoods are different, but since I'm priced out of those neighborhoods I never checked them out.

I have a 4 bedroom house. Nice size, brightly lit living room. Great kitchen. Good deck.

I chill in the basement with the cats.

My basement could make a nice living quarter once I finish it, but it's freaking loud down there with all the servers. :p My end goal is to just make it an exercise area and leave it open. I might put a toilet and sink in the future but I see no point in doing it as long as I'm single, it would just be another bathroom that I have to clean.

Edit: crap, is this considered a necro? I have not cleared my forum email inbox in a while and was going through email notifications. :p

I am tempted to dig a hole in the ground and make it my living quarters. Although I suppose that will happen soon enough anyway.
