Baseball: Why do switch-hitters switch-hit...

when they absolutely suck batting one of the two ways? Roberto Alomar is batting like 150 points lower as a righty this year, than a lefty, so why does his dumb ass continue to do it? Is it such a big deal to have to bat righty when a lefty is pitching?

its because they can see the ball better....

but if u are doing that badly there is no reason except he has hit that way for like 10+ years so he is now used to it

Obvioiusly, it's because of the way the breaking ball moves. Alomar must think (right or wrong) that he just plain can't hit a breaking ball from a left hander. 150 points down is better than 250 points down. 🙂
