Baseball trivia!

What game and how did it happen, that EVERY batter on one team ended the game with the EXACT SAME batting average as they had when they started the game?

You sir, are correct!

Peace

Edit: Little piece of trivia: Jonny vanderMeer's back to back no hitters(the greatest feat in baseball,IMO) came pretty close to being threeno hitters. He pitched,I believe, 5 2/3 innings of no hit ball the third game. Simply amazing.

The team would be the Chicago White Sox, and the event would be Bob Feller's Opening Day no-hitter (April 16, 1940). I had to look up the date. 😀

A pitcher's line score reads:

IP....H.....R....ER.....BB....SO
9.....0.....0......0.......0......0

There were no errors. No one reached base against him. The game didn't go extra innings. Yet he didn't get credit for a perfect game. Why?

This was the guy that relieved Babe ruth after he got ejected after walking the first batter?

Edit: Ernie Shore

Edit again. Hmm he did get credit for a perfect game so that not it.

I was referring to Ernie Shore, but my record book (The Sporting News Complete Baseball Record Book) doesn't give him credit for a perfect game, nor should he be credited with one. Once anyone reaches base, that's that.

Assuming pinch-run is correct, here's another one.

Who pitched the most years without ever having a losing record in their career?
