If this happens, MLB will be dead to me.

It shouldn't be dead to you if you're a Red Sox fan. Now if you were a Royals fan or something like that...

Nope, when a team is allowed to have a cap over 200/225 million a year (which is over 1/5 more than the next highest spending team, Boston), that's when I stop watching. This is the exact reason why Bosox fans are bludgeoned/raped by insane ticket prices, b/c of the Yankees and baseball's inability to create a viable spending cap... Not worth it to me, even if Boston makes it to the WS this year.

EDIT: At least IF Boston got ARod, the teams would be more evenly matched on spending. This just shows how ridiculous MLB is. Oh, and Bud Selig can blow me as well!

Exact thinking of a red sox fan, lets blame the yankees for everything, Red sox fans have no right to complain about small market teams getting screwed because they do the exact same thing as the yankees. If you don't remember the Red Sox are one of the teams that boosted salaries to stupid levels by signing Manny to 18 million a year, more than anyone the Yankees ever signed a FA to. Its ridiculous that you can bash the yankees when your team does the exact same thing, try to buy championships but just suck at it.

Total New York Yankee payroll: $190,000,000.00+

Watching the New York Yankees become the biggest laughingstock in the history of Major League Baseball when the Boston Red Sox win the American League Pennant and go on to win the World Series: Priceless

I still think Angels and Red Sox are a better team.

Yankees proved last couple of years that highest payroll does not equal championships.

Yankees should also add Greg Maddux for a good measure.

Adding Arod to the Yankee lineup would do what it did for Rangers.

Absolutely nothing except magnficiant stats.

Schilling + 2004 = Red Sox championship.

Ahh, stop with the Sox championship already. Not gonna happen.

This year's Red Sox team is better than last year's and this year's Yankee pitching weaker than last year's. I would not be too surprised if the Red Sox beat the Yankees...

I see some of the dilusional Red Sox fans made it through the winter (or most of it anyway). I was getting worried they might not all come back after the Game 7 ownage last October.

I was worried that NY fans would never stop crying about how they lost Pettite and couldn't beat a team with 1/3 their payroll last year.

Pettite is a #2 starter at best who had a good playoff run. No problems with his move here. All we need is a lefty and no one will even notice.

5. Now that they've lost out on Cap'n A-Rod, what will the Red Sox do with Nomar?

A. Give him a five-year contract extension.
B. Trade him.
C. Let him play out his final year under a season of negative publicity, then watch him sign with the Yankees to play second base.
D. Wave goodbye as they all jump off the Prudential Center tower together.

LOL. A-Rod, Jeter, and Nomar in the infield. :Q
