Baseball question...

OK so I have always been under the impression that if a team is tied in the bottom of the 9th or 10th, whatever and the person hits a two or more walk off home run, those runs don't count?!?! So basically its not possible to score more than one run in these situations in the bottom of the 9th on?

they only need one run to win so that's all that needs to score.

if there are runners on base and a homerun is hit, those runs count because the homer isnt official until the batter steps on the home plate thus the runners before him have to cross the plate.

if its say runners on 1st and 2nd, and the guy hits a shot to the gap in center, only the first runner (guy on 2nd) needs to touch home plate for the win (making it only a 1 point win). but the runner who was on 1st must reach and touch the next base, as does the batter. only then is it official.

Those runs count as long as the homer hitter crosses the plate.

Robin Ventura of the Mets once hit a grand slam walk off homer but he didn't cross the plate so they only counted the RBIs that crossed the plate that allowed the Mets to win.

Ok thats the answer I was looking for thanks. For example, someone hit a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth would they win 8-4 or 5-4? Thanks again.

EDIT: OK guys and gals, got it under control. THE FVCKING BRAVES were up 4-1, and gave up 3 runs, so the only way I am going to cover this is for them to hit a two run walk off HR. 🙁

8-4, unless they pull a robin ventura like mentioned above. but then again, we're talking about the same guy who got put in a headlock by a 40+ year old man and got punched in the head repeatedly.

Now I have two different answers 🙁

All the runs count when a player hits a walk off homer, if that player crosses home plate. If he doesn't (very rare, such as the Robin Ventura grand "single"), only one run counts.
