BASEBALL and my ELBOW

Hey guys,

I just picked up baseball a couple of months ago (please keep in mind that I have never played any form of baseball/catch before in my life).

I just started throwing a bit harder, got acquainted w/ 2B/SS... however, even after warming up, after a few strong throws to 1B my throwing elbow would start to tingle and the annoying pain would follow. I don't know how to describe the pain but it feels as if it's like somebody hitting my funny bone (?).

Icing helps a bit and recoups me for the next session, however it seems as though the pain just keeps coming back after hard throws (we're not talking about a long time either, more like 30-45 mins)... will the "fatigue" go away? Will the bone/elbow get stronger? Or do I need to go get this checked out?

Thanks

Your arm isn't used to it. It will eventually go away. It also may be the way you throw. Do you perhaps release the ball sidearm instead instead of 3/4s?

Before baseball season in HS, we would warm up in December before we started playing in March. On top of that, a lot of kids still threw during the off seasons.
