Update: Deal is dead

Well its been on slickdeals for a while.

Link removed as ebay inks are not allowed.

Go to your MyEbay -> ebayBucks link and see if you're eligible for 10% cashback.

I bought it for $1050 and got $105+$5 in cashback. Good deal if your state doesn't get charge sales tax.

Holy man over 800 of em sold on eBay! Seems like after eBay and paypal fees, it would have been better for Apple to just sell them on their website :(

It's MacMall if I remember correctly (checked the link hours ago).

The Macbook Air refresh is likely in June. You often see sales on the current model before the newer one hits. First it's a sale, then they become scarce for a week or so, then the Apple store gets a makeover and we are presented with a new product with 1 year old technology. ;)

~$500 in parts for $940

Awesome deal.
true != troll
$940 for this laptop seems to be a fair price. I would never pay $1k+ for this notebook. Real price should be somewhere closer to $700 but people are willing to pay the premium for the unibody aluminium frame, so Apple is going to keep cashing in on it until a competitor can match their build quality.

Can't wait for the day when a windows laptop maker adopts a similar casing ideology, and charges ~$1k for it (to maintain their margins). Then obviously I'll laugh at all the trolls here on AT.

You don't see people bitching about the panasonic toughbook saying stuff like "hahaha $2000 for $1000 worth in parts" simply because you're selective in your criticism and frankly are too stubborn to realize the 'business'

I'm sure MacMall gets a sick deal from Ebay/Paypal, unlike all of us who get SCREWED over by Ebay/Paypal.

Maybe its time for a competitor to enter this lucrative market, because right now Ebay has a monopoly and its definitely deteriorating the whole buying/selling online thing.

eBay links not allowed
Ebay links are not allowed when its a personal listing. This is Apple's oldest certified reseller just using Ebay as a storefront. Also its a 'Buy it now', not an auction.

Unfortunately that's not right. People have posted proper eBay stores in the past and they still aren't allowed. Last one I remember was Barnes and Noble's official store for a Nook deal, and that was still locked because of an ebay link.

I'm not saying it makes sense, but that's just how it is. No ebay links at all. Auction or not... personal or not... NO EBAY

Sorry. In that case, mods feel free to delete/lock thread.

However I would strongly urge the mods to reconsider their policy, because it is highly likely that a lot of stores start using Ebay to post online deals (online sales are only going to become more prominent as stores look to increase margins while making product prices more competitive)
