BartPE trouble with setupreg.hiv

I have a problem creating a BARTPE cd and have looked everywhere for help. I have my source CD in e: and get an error saying that it gets an access denied when trying to copy setupreg.hiv from the CD.

I then put the i386 Directory on my C: drive and get about the same error.


Error: CopyFile() "c:\I386\setupreg.hiv" to "C:\PEBUILDER3110A\BARTPE\I386\SYSTEM32\SETUPHIV" returned error 32: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
Building done...

It is the only error. From the CD I get about the same error but it does not say that the file is being used.

Any idea what the heck is going on? OH, I am not using a DELL. 😀

Since PE runs in memory and off of the disc, it sounds like it just does not want to do it. Try Xcopy too. Also, if you put a copy on a USB key and boot the system with the key in place, you can copy it from there.

I can not create the BartPE CD as I get the error when it is creating the CD that will be burned. I can copy the file off of my CD, so I am not sure what a USB Key would do. I do have an external USB drive I can use. At any rate, I am still in the PEBUILDER stage.

Well, for the first time ever I created a BartPE ISO. I logged in to my admin account. I have admin on my user account but it must be loading something that pebuilder did not like!
