Hi all,
First off, I'm very new in this oc thing so please bear with me while I ask newbie questions

I bought a barton 2600 with the nf7-s and kingston 3200 400mhz ram just yesterday and I'ld like to know how exactly do I oc it to the max, what's considered the max? Having a stable machine?

I did some searching by myself but I didn't manage to find out how to oc it properly, now it's standing at around 2255.11 mhz, 166 fsb with 13.5 multiplier. I realise that sometimes when I set the values up too high, the monitor doesn't quite want to turn on it keeps blinking, then I'll have to power down reset bios and do it again, is this the correct way?

What are the consequences of setting the voltages in for the core, agp, ram, blahblah, up too high? And has anyone tried playing with this board yet, what results have you guys gotten so far?

I'ld really appreciate any urls or anything that can help me with my oc. Thanks a lot before hand :)

Personally, I would start off either setting your ram to a 1:1 or 5:4 ratio, depending on the overclockability of it past a 200 FSB. Set your FSB to 200 and multiplier to 10 to start. Prime95 and make sure its stable (a half hour or so should tell you if your fsb is stable). If no probs pump up the multiplier to 11 right off the bat to get a 3200. If it's still completely stable and you're at 1:1 bump up the fsb in 5 mhz increments. Please note that at 1:1 and going above 200 your ram might prohibit you from going up to to 210+ FSB. If you notice you can't get to that set it to a 5:4 ratio and keep bumping. Once you've found the max for your multi / fsb on stock voltage...consider bumping it up one more and up voltage .025 to make it stable. Again, use prime95 after every change to ensure 100% stability. Keep going until you're up in the 1.7 to 1.725 (anyone wanna tell him to go higher?? :) ) and see where you are. THat's kind of a quick overview and I may have lost you but hopefully it makes some sense to you.

Barton 2600+? Did I miss something? I thought that there were only 2500+, 2800+, 3000+ and 3200+ Bartons. An Athlon XP 2600+ is just a plain old Tbred-B, 256K cache and all...

You missed something :)

AMD recently released the Barton version of the XP2600+ with 512K cache and 333MHz FSB.

Thanks for the prompt reply, how about ram timing settings? What are those for? Any page/advice which I can refer to?

Ram timings you should be trying for around 6-2-2-2 :)
