Barton XP2500 @ XP3200, what can I expect, as far as lifespan, after the overclock?

So I got this O/C friendly CPU from caesar88 - here - awesome guy and great trader btw 😉
A Barton XP2500+ (1.83 Ghz) @ XP3200+ (2.2 Ghz) running with core voltage of 1.675V.
Basically just bumping up the FSB from 333 Mhz to 400 Mhz did the trick, the multiplier is locked.
It's running stable and the temps are around 40-45C.

I plan to keep this system for a while. How long can I expect to keep it running like this without damage to the CPU?
Should I just run it at stock speeds/voltage?

Albatron PX600 Pro (KT600)
2 x 256 Kingston PC3200 DDR RAM
eVGA Nvidia FX5900SE

You can expect 95% of the life of it at it's stock speed. That tiny little voltage increase won't effect it much, if at all, since there's a margin of error AMD and Intel account for with boards that overvolt or undervolt. Increased clock speed in itself doesn't do anything to reduce the life of the CPU. A while back I heard about some people speculating that CPU's were built with a certain number of clock cycles in them... which to me sounds fuggin insane. It would seem to me that those people don't know how a CPU works, which I guess would make sense as to why they came up with such a "moronic" theory.

Summary: You're fine, enjoy your <$100 XP3200 😀

Yep...you'll have upgraded long before that chip dies from the extra 0.025 volts. 🙂
Here's one more vote for it lasting for another 8 years after you pass it on to your kids.

It was $67 😉😛
:Q Hey, I'll give you $70 for it.😀 My daughter could use a Barton for her computer.

Man, if I knew there was this much demand for regular Bartons I would have sold my old one here. I figured everyone would want the mobiles so I sold it on eBay for $65... my unlocked week 24 that ran 2.3 Ghz on 1.750 volts.

Jeff, if you had sold it about 3 or 4 weeks ago, right before everyone started buying the mobiles, you could have gotten $100 for it easy.
