Barton system very unstable ?

Hi ,

I just bought a Barton 2500+ AXDA2500 DKV4D
AQZFA 0335WPMW

Im running it in a Lan Party NF2 Ultra with 2 x 256mb Corsair XMS 3200 .

My computer never really hit 3200 ... that easily but i got there , plus i havent tried all that hard yet as i just got the Barton 1 week ago ... anyway it was stable enough at 3200 speed 11 x 190 until i installed a SATA drive and now when i start up the system it run sometime for like 3 mins and then the screen freezes .

Ive tried EVERY setting i can think of but the only thing that seems to fix this is taking the AGP card out and using my old GeForce2 PCI Card ?

I just bought a new Graphix Card Radeon 9200 SE 128mb
I also have a GeForce MX 440 64mb ... the problem didnt really seem as bad when i tried that card but it was still doing it.

What can i do to fix this problem or am i stuck with it ?

Turning down my Ram timings or put them too Default fixed my System maybe you should do the same !!
plus the over clock my be stuffing up the connectivity with the SATA drive who knows its got something to do with it as it only started when u put it in!

Hi ,

I use an Enermax 350w ... yeah i know that the overclocking is affecting the system and making it crash but when i put it to default it runs ok for like an hour ? .... so it seem by turning it to default im just delaying the inevitable ... id rather find out the root of the problem and see if theres a way around it ... btw i think the power supply is ok its only 4 weeks old i bought it with a new Lian Li case

kinda sounds like it might be the powersupply isnt going its job


have you tried running memtest86? you can dowload it at memtest86.com

Ive not run memtest no ... im going to download it tonight ... just to mention ... this setup used to have a 1700+ @ 2500MHz everything except the GFX Card , SATA HDD and the Barton 2500 of course .

I will try another power supply if i cant get it ... but the thing is the only other 1 i have isnt as good as the 1 im using no name 300w.
