Guys I just got my rig up and running. It's an Abit NF7-S v2.0, I've only got 512 MB of some crappy mmry right now my corsair came in but was defective...I've since ordered 1 GB of Corsair C2 memory. I'm running a 9700Pro video card, a WD 8MB Cache 80GIG drive, and Barton 2500+. I let it burn in for a couple days and then pushed it up to 2.09GHZ which I estimated to be about 2800+ or so. My question is when I get my new memory whats the best way to oc? run 400+mhz FSB or go after the multiplier (which is unlocked I already checked). I've got an aircooled system but it's a pretty decent system I've got a thermalright heatsink and a ys tech adjustable 80mm fan. Right now it's running at about 43*C and tahts with my room be kinda warm, once I get my AC installed my room will be about 65 or 70*F. So what do you guys think?

higher fsb is always better, but I have seen many people say that their Barton doesn't like the high fsb because of the extra l2 cache...you will just need to check for yourself, but you will see better performance with a higher fsb rather than a higher multiplier.

I got my barton 2800+ up to 200 fsb with my epox 8rda+ with voltage mod. I can't get up much higher, but i think its because of my ram and not the chip.

I think it'll handle the 400mhz because most of the newer ones seem to be very overclockable...but I guess we won't know till I get my new memory. I'll let you guys know.

SK-7 with 4500 RPM 70mm fan... cheap thing from an old heatsink I bought for an Athlon 1.2
Also have the stock heatsink on the A7N8X northbridge

Man, I've got to get a new m/b. I've loved my FIC AN19E with it's KT400 chipset, but my Barton 2500+ only ran for 5 or 6 hours at the stock 166 FSB. Then the machine started rebooting, and won't even boot to dos with that FSB. I had to change it to 133, and change the multiplier to 15x to get it working. No OC'ing for me till I get a NForce2 board. :(
