I have a Biostar M7NCD Pro, r.1.1, barton 2800+, K-Btye PC3200 512mb, ATI 9600 Pro. First off at running at stock speeds, the only way I could get my computer to run fine was at v1.75, which seems kinda strange to me. When I try to overclock I can not get it to even post at 200fsb. Seems strange, these cpus are suppose to overclock really well. Today, my lowest cpu temp is 30C and highest is 55C under load. I have two case fans, and cpu cooling with this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835150040 Am I doing something wrong, how should I start overclocking this thing. Should I change my cpu voltage up alot more and what about other factors that I might need to know, kinda new at this. Thanks

If you had to increase the voltage to get it running at stock speed, you are already in dangerous territory. Your processor may be re-marked.

You should post all the markings such as stepping code etc.

My Barton 2500+, a PIB directly from AMD runs at 2.2GHZ at 1.65v.

Is yours an OEM or a Retail processor?

The Barton 2800+ has a multi of 12.5. If you set the FSB @ 200, it'll mean the CPU is running at 2.5ghz. That's a bit steep.

If you set the FSB to 176 it'll give you 2.2ghz, which is the speed of a 3200+.

I'm not familiar with your mobo. I see it's revision 1.1, make sure it's capable of up to FSB 200 and that it has agp/pci locks.

Don't think jumping up to FSB 200 is going to work. Try upping your FSB in incremeants. Keep an eye on temps. Use Prime95 to test for stability.,

Make sure your ram and CPU is running insynch too (same speed for both).

Good Luck with it.

sounds like you got a processor problem. 1.75 volts right outta the box is high...mine is oc'd to 2.2ghz+ and its running 1.75 if memory serves me right...and i was running 1.75 at 2.4ghz...you should be around 1.7 right outta the box...thats what my 2500 was...it could have been 1.65 but I never ran it at its base speed so I honestly cant remember.
