Barton 2500+ vs. Mobile 2500+.. I dont get it.

I dont get why the Mobile is better.?

The barton has 333fsb the mobile has 266fsb...
I know the barton has .2 higher voltage? is that the bad part? I always figured more V the better.

The barton is cheaper.
Everything else is the same.

also even if it is a 266 fsb version, you just have to get the clock up to 333 by upping the fsb via bios...

no sweat for the mobile or regular bartons...


lots of people running 2500+ @ 3200+ speeds....

also mobile bartons are all (or mostly) unlocked while all the newer desktop bartons are locked...

those 2 are the most important parts. especially with the mobiles being unlocked.

For the technical answer, mobile chips or low-power chips (AMD does differentiate between the two) are cut from the center of the CPU wafer. This is important as the purest silicon is found in the center. Yielding higher overclocks.

i plan on building with an asus a7n8x-e and 512mb crucial ddr400.
im undecided on my VC yet but thats not important.
