barton 2500 retail fan. runing on optimal settings on a A7N8X Deluxe with Corsair CMX512-3200C2PT, performaceII antec 2 fans, when i was installing i was doing 2 mobo's and i accidently put the barton in the other mobo, when i realized i remove it and the compound was cracked, i used a screwdiver to try to put it in his original shape then install it on the rigth mobo.
im getting temps of 50-52c in the asus probe. is that rigth? i wana test it on agresive settings but i dont know if the temp will go off to the roof, i tried it one time and it went 57-60c biosmeasured.
sould i replace the compound? is 60c ok for this procesor.? since i live in texas it can get pretty hot in here. so i would need a <10c from melting heat.

Domo.

I think it is actually grey but yeah. soudns like it wasn't sealed or something. get some thermal paste for like 5 bucks and that should help some.

ps. also make sure that your bios settings are right. you never know what can happen in the bios. i have heard of 2500's being detected as 3200's.

59C for me is a bit too toasty. its not going to burn and fry but it would be better if it ran cooler.

:camera:'s of the "crack" would really help us a lot
