Barton 2500+ Stepping question

I am in the market for a 2500+ and am curious to all the different steppings and what they mean...

and while that site may be helpful for figuring out that anything after week 43 is no good, and that pre week 35 is all good... it still doesn't take into the fact that OCing the barton locked or not is still really GREAT!

it seems that save for a scant few, that you can get your 2500 to 3200 with one change in the bios. i don't see how that multiplier is going to help that much, unless you've got some watercooling. and even then.. if you spent that much on watercooling, chances are you're going to go for intel's P4C.

Even though a locked Barton will still oc nicely by simply raising the fsb (Like we have to do with the P4 chips), the benefit to having a unlocked is in the ability to raise the fsb higher to achieve the XP3200 speed and this yields a much better overall performance for the system.
